And I thought it was going to be a boring night at home: Elephant is not exactly the best choice of a movie to watch on a Friday night when you have to be up early on a Saturday morning. If I do get to sleep any time soon, I'm suspecting a nightmare or two, something that rarely happens to me when I watch a movie or read a book before bed.

It's very well done with incredible cinematography and visual motifs. Characters are built in short close ups and by using lots of "show don't tell" story telling. While the actors are almost all teenagers, the performances are solid. It's also a very short film at 80 minutes, with tension being built throughout. But it's also rather horrifying and probably even a poorer viewing choice if you have high school-aged children.
